Job Description

The Site Engineer plays a critical role in the successful execution of construction projects. Acting as the primary technical authority on-site, the Site Engineer is responsible for overseeing day-to-day construction operations, ensuring that all work is executed according to engineering drawings, specifications, and approved designs. This role requires a strong focus on quality control, resource management, schedule adherence, and the strict enforcement of health and safety standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise daily construction activities, ensuring the project stays on schedule and within budget.
  • Direct and monitor the work of subcontractors, foremen, and general laborers.
  • Coordinate the delivery and logistics of construction materials, equipment, and machinery to the site.
  • Interpret, review, and explain engineering drawings, plans, and specifications to the site team.
  • Conduct site setting out, leveling, and surveying using appropriate instruments to ensure the accurate placement of structures.
  • Identify and resolve technical discrepancies, design errors, or constructability issues on-site in consultation with the design team.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date site records, including daily site diaries, progress photos, and drawing revisions.
  • Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly site progress reports to the Project Manager.
  • Measure and verify the quantities of work completed for the preparation of interim payment certificates.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree (BSc) or Master’s Degree (MSc) in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.
  • Experience: A minimum of 4 to 6 years of Proven work experience as a Site Engineer or in a similar construction supervision role.
