Senior Accountant
Job Description
Lovegrass Agro Processing PLC is a fast-growing food manufacturing company dedicated to producing high-quality, innovative, and health-conscious products for both local and international markets. We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our Finance Team and support the company’s growth.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee daily accounting operations and ensure accurate and timely financial records.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable cycles.
- Review and post journal entries, bank reconciliations, and general ledger adjustments.
- Monitor cost allocations, inventory accounting, and product costing in coordination with supply chain and production teams.
- Ensure compliance with Ethiopian tax laws (VAT, WHT, Payroll Tax, Corporate Income Tax).
- Support external audits and coordinate with auditors.
- Assist in budget preparation, expense monitoring, and variance analysis.
- Maintain fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules.
- Strengthen internal controls and improve financial processes.
- Support management with ad-hoc financial reports and analysis.
Requirement
- BA Degree in Accounting & Finance, Accounting, or related field (MBA or ACCA certification is an added advantage).
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in manufacturing, FMCG, or agro-processing.
- Strong understanding of Ethiopian tax laws and financial reporting standards.
- Proven experience in inventory accounting, cost control, and production-related financial processes.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Peachtree, ERP systems) and MS Excel.
