Job Description

The Furniture Assembler II is an intermediate-level vocational professional responsible for the precise assembly of complex residential, commercial, or custom furniture. Unlike entry-level assemblers, the Level II Assembler is expected to independently read and interpret technical blueprints, perform quality control checks, handle advanced joinery, and install complex hardware. This role requires a strong foundation in woodworking principles, material properties, and manufacturing safety standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Read, interpret, and execute complex technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and work orders to assemble furniture components accurately.
  • Operate a variety of advanced hand tools, power tools, and stationary machinery
  • Inspect raw materials, sub-assemblies, and finished products for structural integrity, surface defects, and dimensional accuracy using measuring instruments
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on assembly tools and machinery
  • Accurately install complex hardware, including soft-close hinges, drawer slides, locking mechanisms, and decorative fittings.
  • Provide guidance, on-the-job training, and support to Furniture Assembler I personnel or apprentices on the production floor.

Requirements

  • Diploma / Certificate (TVET Level III or IV) in Furniture Making, Carpentry, Wood Technology, Joinery, or a closely related manufacturing field from an accredited technical institution.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of continuous, proven work experience in a furniture manufacturing, woodworking, or custom millwork environment
