Job Description
Ethio Impact Consulting Plc is looking for a Country Director on behalf of our NGO client.
With overall responsibility of the charity’s Ethiopian operations, you will deliver effective strategic
leadership, provide technical quality assurance and safe, efficient and effective practices. You will manage,
support and develop staff capacity in Ethiopia which strives for quality, impact and act as our organisational
ambassador and advocate.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensuring that an organizational approach to working in Ethiopia is captured within a Ethiopia Country
Strategy through coordination throughout the organization and the company Executive. - Ensuring that the implementation of the Ethiopia Country Strategy is underpinned by regularly updated
Operational Plans, Influencing and Communication, and Policy and Verification Frameworks. - Leading the Ethiopian Country Team to deliver the agreed strategy including coordinating the selection,
hiring, and development of staff in country. - Providing strategic oversight and leadership in the development and implementation of the charity’s
programmes in Ethiopia. - Working closely with UK and Ethiopian staff to ensure programmes meet stated objectives, are in line with
organisational strategy and plans, meet the needs of partner organisations, and are implemented to the
highest standards, on time and within budget. - Ensuring that the company is compliant with Ethiopian legislation and structures as well as with
organisational policies and procedures and financial practices adhered to at all times. - Strengthening Ethiopia level relations and coordination, including building collaborations, new
opportunities and potential partnerships with key regional stakeholders. - Act as an effective Ambassador for the Charity, demonstrating behaviour which supports the Charity’s
strategy and values and work in a way which promotes the standards described in the Competency &
Standards Framework - To work within the Charities’ guidelines with regard to conduct, recognising its policies with regard to
equality, and showing respect and co-operation towards fellow colleagues;
REQUIREMENTS
- Degree level or above in International Development, Veterinary Science, Business Administration or other
related fields with a minimum of 10 years of experience, 5 years has to be in managerial roles - Experience in Ethiopia of the Animal Welfare or International Development Sector, NGO
- An ability to work with people at all levels
- Excellent communication skills and presentation skills
- Strong IT skills
- Knowledge of veterinary and animal welfare structures and main problems & International knowledge and
experience of the animal welfare sector
