General Accounts Section Head
Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and eager-to-learn General Accounts Section Head to lead and supervise the general accounting section by ensuring accurate financial recording, proper maintenance of general ledger accounts, timely preparation of financial reports, and compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies. The position is responsible for maintaining the integrity of financial records and ensuring effective accounting operations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee the preparation, review, and posting of journal entries, accruals, adjustments, and cash receipt/payment vouchers.
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions in the accounting system.
- Maintain and monitor general ledger accounts and ensure proper account classification.
- Review ledger balances and ensure the accuracy and completeness of accounting records.
- Supervise regular bank reconciliations and reconciliation of balance sheet and subsidiary ledger accounts.
- Coordinate the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure timely submission of financial reports to management.
- Analyze financial data and provide explanations for significant variances.
- Supervise or support the preparation and verification of monthly payroll-related accounting entries.
- Ensure accurate recording of payroll expenses and statutory deductions.
- Monitor compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations.
- Coordinate with relevant sections to ensure timely tax reporting and payments.
REQUIREMENT
- BA degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.
- Training or certification in Peachtree Accounting.
- IFRS training or certification.
- Minimum of 6–8 years of relevant work experience in accounting and finance.
- Demonstrated experience in general ledger management, financial reporting, account reconciliation, and accounting supervision
