Job Description

The HR Director will be a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for developing and executing human resource strategies in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the company. This includes succession planning, talent management, change management, organizational and performance management, training and development, and compensation.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Establish and implement HR efforts that effectively communicate and support the company’s mission and strategic vision.
  • Talent Acquisition: Oversee recruitment processes to ensure high-caliber staffing for both technical engineering roles and administrative functions across multiple project sites.
  • Organizational Development: Develop comprehensive strategic recruiting and retention plans to meet the human capital needs of a firm.
  • Performance Management: Implement and manage a robust performance appraisal system that drives high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Compliance & Labor Relations: Ensure the company is in full compliance with Ethiopian Labor Law. Manage grievance procedures and coordinate with legal counsel on labor disputes.
  • Compensation & Benefits: Design and manage competitive salary structures and benefit programs tailored to the construction industry.
  • Training & Capacity Building: Identify training needs and develop programs to upgrade the skills of technical staff (operators, engineers, foremen) and office staff.

Requirements

  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree in human resource management, Public Administration, Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 12–15 years of progressive experience in HR management.
  • At least 5–7 years in a senior leadership/managerial role.
