Finance Manager
Job Description
Responsible for monitoring the financial health of an organization using financial reports. Direct, perform and control the overall activities of the company’s finance. Oversee the creation of many reports, including financial statements, business activity reports and forecasts based on current trends. Deals with major issues related with payments, banking process, financial issues with suppliers etc.
Duties & Responsibilities
A. Financial Management
- Oversee all financial operations of the organization
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Ensure accuracy of accounting records
B. Budgeting & Planning
- Lead annual budget preparation
- Monitor budget utilization and variance analysis
- Provide financial forecasts and strategic recommendations
C. Cash Flow & Treasury Management
- Manage cash flow to ensure liquidity
- Monitor bank balances and transactions
- Plan loan repayments and funding needs
D. Tax & Compliance
- Ensure timely tax filing and payments
- Liaise with tax authorities (MoR)
- Ensure compliance with Ethiopian laws and regulations
E. Internal Controls & Audit
- Establish and enforce internal control systems
- Coordinate internal and external audits
- Address audit findings and implement improvements
F. Banking & External Relations
- Maintain relationships with banks and financial institutions
- Negotiate loans and credit facilities
- Handle foreign currency issues (if import/export involved)
G. Team Management
- Supervise accountants and finance staff
- Assign duties and monitor performance
- Provide training and development
H. Strategic Role
- Advise management on financial strategy
- Support investment decisions
- Identify cost-saving opportunities
Requirments
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Finance
- 4-7 Years in an accounting/finance department preferably in trading company plus 4 years of managerial position
