Job Description

The Project Bid Sales Supervisor with an Electrical Engineering background to lead our project bid sales efforts. This role is crucial for ensuring the technical accuracy and competitiveness of our proposals for Romel’s branded electrical products. The ideal candidate will supervise a team focused on technical sales engineering, bridging the gap between client requirements, our product capabilities, and effective bid submissions.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise and mentor a team of Technical Sales Engineers or Bid Coordinators, providing technical guidance and support in the preparation of project bids and proposals.
  • Oversee the entire technical aspect of the bid lifecycle, from initial requirement analysis to final proposal submission, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project specifications.
  • Ensure all project bids accurately reflect Romel’s electrical product capabilities, technical specifications, and relevant industry standards.
  • Lead the technical analysis of client project requirements, working closely with the Project Sales Manager and Project Sales Representatives to understand their needs for electrical solutions.
  • Design and propose comprehensive technical solutions using Romel’s electrical product portfolio, optimizing for performance, cost-effectiveness, and client satisfaction.
  • Prepare detailed technical specifications, schematics, and product configurations for inclusion in bid documents.
  • Act as a key technical liaison between the project sales team and internal departments, including Engineering, Production, and R&D, to ensure feasible and innovative solutions are proposed.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain Management to understand product availability and lead times for specialized electrical components required for projects.
  • Work closely with the Customer Service’s technical team to ensure proposed solutions can be effectively supported post-sale.
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of Romel’s full range of electrical products, including their technical advantages, applications, and certifications.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor technical offerings, and new technologies in the electrical sector to inform bid strategies and product development.
  • Support the sales team in providing detailed product knowledge and technical explanations to project clients.
  • Ensure all technical documentation, certifications, and compliance requirements for project bids are meticulously prepared and submitted.
  • Conduct technical reviews of proposals before submission to identify and rectify any discrepancies or potential issues.

Requirments

  • A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering is mandatory; master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in technical sales, sales engineering, or bid management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role, specifically within the electrical products or related industries.
  • Proven expertise in designing and specifying electrical systems and components.
  • Strong understanding of project lifecycle management and bid processes for large-scale electrical projects.
  • Excellent technical communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proficiency in relevant engineering software (e.g., CAD software, simulation tools) and CRM systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for technical detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations for electrical installations
