Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in daily bookkeeping, voucher preparation, and sorting of financial documents.
  • Help maintain accurate records of expenses, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
  • Support the preparation of basic financial statements, including:Expense details, Accounts receivable/payable summaries, Monthly and quarterly basic reports.
  • Ensure compliance with Ethiopian tax laws, financial regulations, and the company’s financial procedures.
  • Conduct initial checks of daily expense documents based on company policies.
  • Assist in reviewing and verifying supporting documents for payments and reimbursements.
  • Use Excel, Word, and other office tools to prepare financial data and basic reports.
  • Operate accounting software such as Peachtree (if experienced).
  • Assist in data entry, filing, and document management for the finance department.
  • Work closely with the finance team to complete assigned tasks on time.
  • Communicate proactively with other departments when collecting financial information.
  • Use English as the main working language; basic Chinese communication is an advantage.

Requirement

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Accounting, Finance, Financial Management, or related fields.
  • 1–2 years of financial work experience; priority for candidates with experience in accounting firms or corporate finance departments.
  • Understanding of Ethiopian tax laws, basic financial regulations, and accounting processes.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and general office software.
  • Experience with basic accounting software (e.g., Peachtree) is an added advantage.
  • Ability to organize and prepare financial documents accurately.
  • Good communication skills and team-oriented attitude.
