Ethio Impact Consulting Plc is looking for a Senior Accountant on behalf of our client.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Present financial reports to management, providing insights and recommendations for decision-making.
- Assist in the development of annual budgets and forecasts, collaborating with department heads to establish realistic financial goals.
- Monitor budget performance and provide regular updates to management, highlighting areas of concern or deviation from targets.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Oversee accounts payable processes, ensuring timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices and payments.
- Manage accounts receivable activities, including invoicing, collections, and reconciliation of customer accounts.
- Address any discrepancies or issues related to accounts payable and receivable, resolving them in a timely manner.
- Conduct financial analysis to support strategic decision-making, such as pricing strategies, investment opportunities, and expansion plans.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting standards, staying updated on changes in regulations and implementing necessary adjustments.
- Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits, providing documentation and explanations as needed.
- Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes, implementing automation and efficiency measures where possible.
- Continuously review internal controls and procedures to mitigate financial risks and improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Provide training and support to junior accounting staff, fostering their professional development and growth.
- Manage the company’s pension contribution and tax obligations, including preparation and filing of payroll taxes, sales taxes, and other regulatory payments.
- Stay informed about changes in tax laws and regulations, ensuring compliance and timely submission of required payments.
- Coordinate with external tax advisors or government agencies as needed to address inquiries or audits.
- Monitor and reconcile tax accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness of tax reporting.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification preferred.
- Proven experience 5years as a Senior Accountant or similar role, preferably in the service industry.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Peachtree) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Knowledge of GAAP, local tax law, and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Integrity and professionalism, with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards.
