Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

· Plans, organizes, directs supervises and controls departments undertaking microfinance core operations and support services.

· Studies and submits for approval alternative microfinance services to be provided by the Company; implements same upon approval

· Directs the study and introduction of systems and procedures for improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of microfinance services

· Recommends and follows-up branch expansions; follows-up progress of establishment and set-up of newly opened branches; ensures appropriate and up-to-date records are kept for all microfinance activities of the Company

· Ensures that material, human, equipment and other facilities are availed for the efficient operation of microfinance operations

· Ensures that established operating policies and procedures are followed in all departments; ensures that NBE directives regarding microfinance operations and other governing policies and laws are adhered to.

· Conduct branch rating and revision periodically

· Establish and monitory regular performance reporting on key performance indicators like disbursement, resource mobilization

· Develop and execute resource mobilization plan

Requirements

– MA/BA Degree in Accounting /Management/Economics or related field

– 8- 10 Years of relevant experience

– 5 of which in managerial position at Micro-Finance or Financial Institution or operation management is advantageous

– Ability to build a strong management team

– Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills

– Familiarity with implementing and optimizing technology solutions to improve service delivery and operational effectiveness

– Working knowledge and experience in performance management

– Experience in managing multiple branch operations

– Ability to oversee day-to-day operations efficiently, ensuring smooth functioning of branches or units.

– Knowledge of risk assessment and mitigation strategies, particularly in the context of microfinance (e.g., credit risk, operational risk).

– Leadership, Communication, Decision Making, Collaboration & Problem Solving

– Capacity to analyze complex issues and develop practical solutions to operational challenges.

– Capacity to set performance target and ensure delivery in key targets
