Job Description

The Bid Manager is responsible for creating and overseeing a bid – a detailed, costed, persuasive proposal – on behalf of the company to gain a business contract or offer for product solutions. S/he will work alongside with concerned staff and external stakeholders to manage the bid production process ensuring compliance and delivery of high quality tender responses on a timely basis.

 Duties and Responsibilities

. Identify opportunities for submitting bids and consult line manager and relevant sales team whether to bid for the product solution;

. Devise successful strategies for winning a bid, including pinpointing the unique selling points (key differentiators) of the company, understanding the company’s operating and profit margins and the clients’ specific requirements.

. Work with key staff members and the client organization to obtain information required to compile the bid.

. Assess and address technical and commercial risks, if any, relating to the bid;

. Prepare checklists for tenders and ensure that all mandatory documents such as power of attorney, bid security, valid trade license and registrations are in place before bid submission;

. Liaise with the right stakeholders (internal and external) to ensure full compliance and delivery

. Respond to clients’ queries before, during and after the bid is submitted;

. Map the bid requirements with regulatory standards to ensure compliance and alignment;

. Ensure timely submission of bids with the set specifications and ensure tender opening details are obtained and communicated.

. Report on the bid process on specific tender submissions capturing key highlights, success, gaps and recommendations for future competitions.

Job Requirements

· Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration and/or related fields.

Work Experience

· Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience.
