General Manager
Job Description
Ethio Impact Consulting PLC is recruiting a General Manager to lead operations at a prominent Ethiopian food manufacturing company specializing in flour and baked goods.
This senior leadership role carries full P&L responsibility and requires a seasoned executive with deep technical knowledge of food production, strong commercial acumen, and proven leadership to drive operational excellence, ensure quality and safety standards, and accelerate sustainable growth in Ethiopia’s competitive market.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership for manufacturing, quality assurance, supply chain, and commercial operations
- Develop and execute the company’s strategic plan to achieve revenue growth, profitability targets, and market leadership
- Oversee production planning, capacity utilization, and cost control with hands-on management
- Ensure full compliance with Ethiopian Food and Drug Administration standards and international food safety protocols
- Lead multidisciplinary teams across production, maintenance, quality control, procurement, and logistics
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, operational discipline, and employee development
- Manage supplier relationships and optimize raw material sourcing
- Coordinate new product development initiatives with R&D teams
- Collaborate with sales and marketing to align production capabilities with market demand
- Represent the company with government agencies, industry associations, and key stakeholders to advance business interests and maintain regulatory compliance
Requirments
- Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Business Administration, Industrial Management, or a closely related field
- Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in the food manufacturing sector
- At least five years in senior management roles such as General Manager, Plant Manager, or Operations Director
